Topsy Wordy is designed to collect as little personal data as possible.
The app stores information locally on your device, such as:
This information is used to make the app work. It stays on your device; the app has no account system and no server, and it does not transmit this information anywhere.
If you enable the daily reminder, the app uses your device's local notification system to schedule it. Scheduling happens entirely on your device.
You can disable the reminder in the app or through your device settings.
Topsy Wordy does not use analytics, advertising trackers, or cross-app tracking. The game, puzzle data, progress, reminders, sharing text, and settings do not use a developer server, and the app does not send your puzzle progress or settings to us.
If the app asks Apple to show the standard App Store review prompt, that request is handled by Apple's StoreKit system. The app does not receive or store whether you rated or reviewed it.
If you buy or restore access to the full game, that request is handled by Apple's in-app purchase system. Topsy Wordy receives only whether Apple verified the purchase. It does not receive your payment card details, Apple Account details, billing address, or refund information. After Apple verifies a purchase or restore, the app stores a local record that the full game is unlocked so it can keep working offline.
If analytics were ever added in a future version, this Privacy Notice would be updated before release.
The app does not collect or sell personal data. Personal data contained in any correspondence you choose to send to us is processed solely to handle and respond to that correspondence, and is retained only for as long as is necessary for that purpose.
If you download the app or make an in-app purchase through the Apple App Store, Apple may process information relating to your download, purchase, device, and account under Apple's own terms and privacy policies.
If you contact us for support, we will receive the information you choose to send, such as your email address, message, screenshots, device details, or any other details you include.
We use this information only to respond to your enquiry, manage support, and keep appropriate records. Our lawful basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in responding to support enquiries, managing support, and keeping appropriate records.
Local app data remains on your device unless you delete the app, reset app data, or your device removes it. Deleting the app deletes your progress; there is no copy we can restore.
Support enquiries may be retained for a reasonable period to manage support and records.
Topsy Wordy does not collect or hold personal data about you, beyond what you choose to send if you contact us for support.
With respect to data handling, you have a statutory right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) or your local data protection authority.
